OPB Tues June 8, 2010

"OPB" is our term for Other Peoples' Boats. This is a casual, social event in which members of our yacht club show up at 6pm and just go out and play on the water. The purpose is to invite others onto your boat or to be invited onto someone else's boat.

After a few moments of discussion, it was decided that our twelve participants would be split between the two largest boats, Georgetown III and Sunshine.

The weather was spectacular.

Bright blue skies, few clouds, low temperature and just a hint of a breeze. Enough breeze for an easy sail.

My personal thanks to Dave of Content (affectionately referred to as "Malcontent") for bringing three guests for our evening event. Dave does a lot to promote the sport of sailing here on Manhasset Bay. Go Dave!

The fading light provided an opportunity for beautiful photos.

I begged Richard to stand up for a photo op, and instead we were treated to an all-hands-on-the-rail rendition of "You Are My Sunshine". What a treat! Yes Richard, the Entertainment Award for the evening goes to you and your crew.

If your math skills are pretty good, you will notice a small change here at Stepping Stone. Yes, now We Are Three. Not one of ours, but our few moments in the evening were a shared joy.

Our evening ended with a lovely sunset.
